ACR ResQFlare Buoyant Electric Flare
The ACR ResQFlare is a high-intensity LED Electronic Distress Boat Flare Kit. When paired with the included distress flag, the ResQFlare and flag are certified to satisfy the applicable U.S. Coast Guard requirements, enabling them to be carried as a substitute for traditional boating pyrotechnic flares on most recreational boats. As a practical alternative to boat pyro flares or boat flare guns, the ResQFlare delivers 360° visibility for over 6 miles and its efficient design provides substantial operational life (+20 Hour burn time), significantly increasing your chances of survival and rescue
ResQFlare Benefits vs. Traditional Pyrotechnic Boat Flares:
- No expiration date
- Family safe (no open flame)
- Simple to operate (so even children and novice boaters can use it during an emergency)
- No concerns with the current strict mandatory disposal requirements for pyrotechnic flares (legally classified as hazardous materials)
- Waterproof and Buoyant

One-time purchase (lower cost over the product's lifetime)
Satisfying the USCG requirements (46 CFR 161.013), the ResQFlare is classified as an approved Night Visual Distress Signal. Since a Distress Flag, meeting the requirements of 46 CFR 160.072, is included in the package with every ResQFlare, users are also equipped with an approved Day Visual Distress Signal (the requirement for carriage of approved day and night visual distress signals can be found in 33 CFR part 175).
The included Distress Flag offers multiple daylight signaling options. The flag can be flown by attaching to the mast or simply raising to the highest possible point. It can also be displayed by hand, tied to, and then waved on items such as a boat hook, paddle, or fishing rod, or it can be laid flat on the deck to attract aircraft. The flag should be used only as a day signal and when displayed correctly, the black square should be positioned over the black circle.
Having the ResQFlare and Distress Flag kit together enables boaters to eliminate the requirement for traditional pyrotechnic flares when on vessels up to 65' in length, boating on the Great Lakes, within 12 miles of U.S. waters, or on any body of water with a passageway to the sea at least two miles wide. Vessels less than 16' are not required to carry a Day Visual Distress Signal but must still carry a Night Visual Distress Signal. This makes the ResQFlare a highly viable alternative to pyrotechnic flares for vessels of this size as well.

What makes the Evac Drybag waterproof?
The Sea to Summit Evac Drybag features a heavy-duty construction with a roll-top closure system that creates a watertight seal. The bag is made from durable, waterproof materials that prevent water ingress even when fully submerged. The roll-top design allows you to customize the closure length based on your load, ensuring maximum waterproofing regardless of how full the bag is.
Is the 35L capacity suitable for marine and yachting applications?
Yes, the 35L capacity is ideal for marine and yachting applications. It's large enough to store essential gear, electronics, documents, and personal items while remaining compact and easy to stow on deck or in cabin spaces. This size is perfect for day trips, water sports, or as a backup emergency bag on larger vessels. The capacity provides excellent versatility for both recreational and professional maritime use.
How durable is the heavy-duty compression material?
The Evac Drybag is constructed with heavy-duty, abrasion-resistant materials designed to withstand harsh marine environments. The reinforced fabric resists punctures, tears, and UV damage from prolonged sun exposure. The compression straps are built to last through repeated use and the roll-top closure mechanism is engineered for durability. This bag is designed to be a long-term investment for serious boaters and water enthusiasts.
How do the compression features work?
The Evac Drybag features integrated compression straps that allow you to reduce the bag's volume and create a more compact, streamlined shape. These straps help stabilize your load, prevent shifting during transport, and make the bag easier to handle in tight spaces. The compression system also helps maintain the waterproof seal by keeping the roll-top closure taut. You can adjust the compression level based on your packing needs.
Can I use this bag for emergency situations on a yacht?
Absolutely. The Evac Drybag is an excellent choice for emergency preparedness on yachts and boats. Its waterproof design protects critical items like documents, medications, electronics, and emergency supplies from water damage. The durable construction ensures reliability when you need it most, and the compact size makes it easy to grab quickly in an emergency. Many maritime professionals recommend keeping a drybag as part of their safety equipment.
